Bad wheel bearings?
The first question I want to ask is if your bearings are bad, would you hear/feel grinding/vibration cruising straight or turning? I just started noticing that when I drive fast turning right onto a curving freeway ramp the car does this. So there's something going on with the left side of the car.

if the bearing is bad enough, you'll hear it all the time but the sound will always get louder when more weight is on the bad side. mine was so bad i could hear the bearing while i turned the hub with my hand lol

When mine started, the sound would come and go. Sometimes I wouldnt hear it for 5 mins. then it would come back. The more I drove it the more I could hear it and feel it in the floor. It was my rear bearing. It's not to bad to do yourself. It cost me $45, but I have my own press.

another way to check is jack the car up and see if the wheel is sloppy thats how mine was and as usuall with the annoying grinding noise. i change my right rear wb a few weeks ago in like 2 house and that included takeing the hub up to a shop to press out the old bearing and press the new one in very simple job

Basing Off what you said its probably somthing to do with one of the ball joints rather than a wheel bearing. The way to check is to jack the car up and wiggle the wheel side to side, up and down.
If the wheel has a lot of play left to right it might be something to do with a ball joint or a tie rod. If it is up and down movement too it is a wheel bearing. just did one on a passat at work, and it took about 2 hours with a lift and a press. You'll have to get the bearing presses out if you do end up doing it yourself.
