Default Bad turbo? acceleration issue

So the past months ive been trying to fix this car. many thanks to the posts here i have fixed some issues like bad icm, coil plug, rpm sensor. Now i have another issue im afraid i cannot fix. I believe my turbo is going bad, car only has 68000 miles 1.8t, the acceleration on the car has never been good. now recently i can hear a noise when i rev up the engine sounds like the dentist drill you guys have been saying, i have no check engine light on, from first gear the car has really bad acceleration, it feels like its trying to go, but feels like i have the ebreak on, but this only happens half of the time, from a complete stop. I was also thinking it might be my torque converter. Can the turbo at all be failing because of engine sludge ive been hearing.

Does it have 6800 miles or 68 THOUSAND miles? That makes a big difference.

If you're hearing the dental drill then it's likely your turbo is cooked. And yes, the oil sludge issue, if you have sludge, can affect any part of the engine relying on oil, including the turbo.

Just to throw it out there, if a boost leak is bad enough you could get a whooshing noise from air escaping wherever the boost leak might be. If you are inclined enough you could build a boost leak tester for $20 or less, and use either an air compressor or bike pump to charge the system.

okay so today i took it to a local machanic and he told me that it was a transmission issue, since he does not do trans, i will have to take it else where, the noise is not coming from the engine, cannot even hear it from under the hood. only time i hear the sound its coming from under my driver side door i can hear it. So my turbo is fine. why is my transmission making sounds? also the acceleration problem feels like im starting in second gear? does that sound right? are there any senors it can be or am i going to need to either rebuild the trans or get a new one.

Check the turbo piping underneath your drivers side front end. Its a rubber tube, if you look under the front end, it is just behind the drivers side fog light. I just took mine to the mechanic yesterday and the person i bought it from tried to tape it up. Your tube is probably bad. Not saying im right, but look at it, if its got "race tape" that. I have the same sound coming from mine right now and low and behold, the rubber is done and is held on with tape. I am replacing hopefully here in the next week or so, i will try to post back when i see if that fixes that problem. Transmission i dont know. sorry, but do yourself a favor, do not take it to a normal mechanic. If you dont see other german cars, dont drop it off. Find one that specializes mostly in them, i always look for porsche, bmw, mercedes, etc...what state are you in, if you are in Kentucky towards cincinnati, i can give you two that you can go see.

We performed a temporary fixed and replaced the tape, all I could do till I get paid, but it took care of the swoosh sound. Check your piping.

...have your o2 sensors checked, mine felt like I was driving a camry, didn't really accelerate much, now I feel a ton more low end power. Is your check engine light on? If it is go to autozone and have them run the test and print out the codes. The two o2 sensors I replaced fixed 12 engine codes and it was the first one on the list from my diagnostic. If those aren't working a ton of other sensors wont properly work because they're waiting on a signal from the o2 sensors. The car basically puts itself in "limp mode" and it wont feel like there's any power.
