Default Bad ball joint caused by warped rotor?

The front right is knocking when I brake. It also pulses like a warped rotor. The car was in an accident, so I didnt get to drive it before hand. From what I've been reading the knocking means a bad control arm ball joint. I have the tools to replace a ball joint, but apparently you can't just buy a ball joint?

I'm assuming the bad rotor is on the right side also. When I first touch the brake pedal, it pulses and knocks. Not as bad as most cars I've driven with warped rotors. I wouldnt bother fixing it, but I fear it might lead to another bad ball joint.

sounds like you need new front rotors and at the same time you may want to replace all 4 of your upper control arms (if you have the $)

I would say that the front rotors should be the first things that should either be machined or just replaced...and if you can tell which control arm is gon, than you will prolly be safe to just replace the one that is shot, although I would replace them all for symmetry reasons, and you figure if you are replacing the one, you may as well replace both on that side.

and you have to figure that if the CA on the one side goes out, then the ones on the other side will probably soon follow [:@]

FCP Groton on Ebay sells the complete control arm kitor individualcontrol arms. Fix the breaks the right way,and if youthink you'll ever want toupgrade to bigger rotors and ceramic pads, now seems like a good time. Also check your CV boots/CV joint while you're in there.

^+1!

you can get all four uppers from FCP for less than $100....definately look into A8 rotors/TTcarriers.....and if you have a torn CV boot/grease all over the place, it is time to change the Cv Axle/s [>:]...

alright, well, gl!...could be worse, at least your problems can all be fixed easily without taking it to a mechanic!
