B5 s4 smic?

Question B5 s4 smic?

Anyone out there know if the driverside B5 S4 intercooler core will bolt in to replace the OEM A4 1.8T SMIC? I am curious as I have found a nice core upgrade for the SMIC for the S4, but have yet to find anything for the A4 except FMICs... From the photos I have seen they appear to have different oriented outlets, but I just wanted to verify this for sure. Thanks in advance for the information and help!

I would suspect that they do bolt in but I bet you just aren't looking in the right spot. I am sure someone will find you a link for what your looking for.

Yeah, I can imagine that they do sell upgrades for the 2001 A4, but like you said I'm just not looking in the right place for them... Thanks!

ER makes a DSMIC for the B7 now, maybe one of those would work on the 1.8t.




Stock vs ER - ER core size 10"x7.3"x4.5" , stock core size 8.6"x8.5"x2.6"




ER S4 2.7 driverside SMIC - Core size 10"x8"x4.5"
