Default B5 Roof Rack Fairing Q

Just got a Yakima rack off Ebay, pretty stoked. Came with everything but the q clips and fairing. Just wondering what size fairing you guys are using? Yakima says 38" but there's a guy on Craigslist selling his A4 (not sure if it's for a B5) Yakima rack with a 48" fairing. They do make 48s so I don't think it's a misprint and he does actually have a 48" but I'm not sure. What size has worked for you guys?

yeah most of my friends on there b5 have a 48'' because the 48'' is the large and the 38'' is the medium so just search on google and stuff to see which one you like more

Oops! They don't make a 48" they only make a 44" and a 50". So I guess the debates over a 38" or a 44" now.

Yakima's site said 38" when I just looked it up. But when I looked at a measurement diagram, it seemed 44" would fit better. I think your best bet would be to measure your roof line and see what you come up with.

I just bought a set of OEM Audi racks on CraigsList, SO excited!

I was actually just in a cycle shop looking at bike racks to go on top of the roof racks, and looked at fairings as well. The smaller one looked too small, but i was just eyeballing them in the store so don't hold me to that

Yeah it seems like a tough call to make without actually having both fairings on hand. I'm definitely getting a bike rack for mine!

Talk to REI or some place that sells Yakima. Maybe you can get your hands on two fairings...

Snowboard rack for me, maybe. I've got the ski sack.
Maybe a kayak stacker so I can haul more than one boat.
