thanks for the help guys... except for the transmission i feel his prices are some what resonable. but im going to ask for the purchace reciept for the tranny before payment.... any other sugestions?

living in an apartmet building i cant realy part my car out, im gonna fix it drive this winter prolly sell it late spring when i move out to denver... ill have a drive way then. yay

$5000 for a tranny...holy crap! I paid $4800 for my whole damn car with 122K on it!

The comment about A&P though...those guys are awesome. Rob is SUPER nice and very very helpful. And their prices are good too.

I had my trans rebuilt in chicago for only 1200 so I am not sold on the trans and trans lines.

Run away. It'll be woth the tow. Average price for a used tip tranny with decent miles is about $1-1.5k. About 8 hours labor= $600ish.

fwd or quattro?

there are some REALLY good prices from a& p like i said. lol check it out then all you have to do is drop yours and do a straight bolt on. cant be THAT hard with some people to help you

ha yeah i know!

(i feel lucky i only live about 45 mins from them = no freight charges if my tranny or engine goes ha)

A transmission shop will not charge more then 2500 to rebuild it. Most rebuilds are as good as a new transmission too.

Nobody rebuilds tip trannys. Actually I think there are one or 2 places in the entire country who do...
