RE: b5 alarm problem? heellpp
do you have the windows or sunroof open when it goes off>?
because there is like a motion sensor that can be triggered by simple things like leaves.
That's what causes it for me...
I hate the alarm/horn sound too it sound pathetic....

You can turn down motion sensor sensitivity with VAG, and if its doing it with your windows down its for sure the motion sensor. Try pressing the button on the pillar to turn them off and see if it keeps happening.

Can you disable alarm with VAG-COM? Mine will not stop and I cant start my car unless I pop start it. Not to hijack, but please give me a bump. I dont wanna get raped by a dealer this week, and I cant work without a car.

those sensors are ultrasound motion sensors. They emmit a ultra high frequency sound wave and can detect changes in the envrionment inside the car. Wind can set them off, I used to have this problem too. The only way the lock the car and still have ventilation is to pop open the sunroof, (not open fully) and keep the sun sheild thing closed. This allows the hot air to escape, but no movement will happen in the car. My car was famous for being the boy-who-cried-wolf, but that hasn't happened since I've been doing this. Good luck.

interesting...
Once I remember coming outside for lunch and seeing/hearing my alarm going off...
I usually leave my windows cracked....
no sunroof...

Same thing happens to me all the time. Lately Ive been putting all the windows all the way up but leaving the sunroof open, and that seems to keep the sensors from triggering the alarm. I didn't know you could turn the thing down with VAGCOM i might have to look into that....Thanks!
