I recently saw, on Ebay I think, brand-new short blocks fresh from Audi, in the crate for what I remember were just a ridiculous low price. I considered for a minute if I should grab one for my '96 which has almost 250K miles, but didn't do it as my 12V has no issues. By the way, I'd skip the WIX filters and use MANN instead. I don't know about the current WIX filters, but years ago they were second-rate, and I wouldn't use them.

 

Does anyone know where I can find some sort of diagram to track down the oil passages or at least have an idea to start. Definitely have something blocking the passages to the heads.

I have to say, in all my years in working on and driving B5's, I've never seen that kind of diagram. Bentley doesn't show it, and I've not seen it any where else.

 

Guess it's the good ol tear it apart until u find it lol......thinking with 215,000 it might be easier to just change the motor.

 

Well i found a motor for $500 bucks.....anyone know what an average price for a 12 valve engine is
