AWD Trash? I think not but am i wrong?
I recently read an old post comparing a 350z to an A4 and the one thing that bothered me was some people were saying that the a4's awd cant stand up on the race track to rwd cars. It was said that with no matter what mods an A4 with awd had its couldnt stand up to the rwd of a 350z. Now dont get me wrong i dont know a whole lot about cars but in the 80's didn't audis quattro system stomp everyone in racing and rallying?

I don't know who or where you read this but I'd reconsider wasting your time with it. The a4 isn't the best track platform but that statement is just wrong. I don't know much about 350z's but I know it wouldn't take much for an a4 to beat it around a track all day long. A good set of swaybars and tires will make it great on a track. Throw coilovers on there and it's even better. If both cars had similar hp numbers I'd put my money on the a4 every time. The 350z is a coupe and probably has better weight distrabution. If it was a drag race or highway pull my money would be on the 350z. I think Quattro is in the top 3 best awd systems. It was banned from some rally events and Audi pretty much started the awd and turbo thing back in the 80's.

they didn't just stomp everyone with quattro, they INVENTED awd. but awd doesn't necessarily mean good track cars. the way the 350z is set up makes it better. the a4 is a luxury car with a heavy nose. the AWD makes it handle much better, but its no glorified track car

Ah ok thank you chaos for helping clear this up but it is possible for an A4 to out perform/handle a 350z on the track right? It would just takesa tonof mods or is this still out of the questiion
