lol i just read this thread in its entirety and i couldnt stop laughing lol.. phil i gotta say the **** you say makes me laugh pretty hard hahah.. but honestly to get back on track, its a tough question to ask in these forums when you say whats preferable manual or auto.. its all in what you like.. i really dont understand when people talk about how much of a pain it is in traffic to drive a manual.. its not that bad and it gives you something to do.. in my opinion, these b5 sedans are best mated with a 5speed just for the simple fact they are euro sport sedans, and they are available with the manual to enjoy the drive.. not that you cant with an auto, but i agree with everyone on here who said you feel much more connected to the car when you have a manual.. plus in the 1.8t when its modded, i cant imagine having an auto.. just takes the fun out of driving.. when you bump up to an A8L or something, thats when you achieve baller status and the auto is what comes along with the territory.. anyways, get whichever you like best.. this a4 is the easiest to drive manual ive ever driven.. it took me one time into town with my sisters old jetta to learn how to drive standard, and if it takes you any loner then that.. well its pretty sad.. every car is different.. but these cars are super easy to drive.. id prolly complain if i was running a stage 3 clutch and had to drive 20 miles thru traffic everyday.. but even then.. def would take it over the auto
