ok here is a short/bad DIY i found looking online you will need to buy a spp (spreme power parts)( im sure you can find others but this is what i found firstish)tip mod for around 60.00$ you can go to supremepowerparts.com and look under audi/transmission then look for the "tip mod" and then a new shifter from 30-100.00$ depending on what look you want. Here is short image i found that describes the DIY. I will get my tip mod tomorrow along with the short momo shifter so after i install it myself i can post a litle more info....also i would like to think that some sort of instructions will come with the tip mod kit...

Removing and installing selector lever handle

Removing:


Move selector lever to "3" position.
Slide sleeve -1- down as far as it will go.
Pull button -2- out of selector lever handle -3- until it clicks (distance -a-) and pull handle upward.



Dimension -a- = 3 mm (1/8 inch)

Installing:


Move selector lever to "3" position.
Carefully pull button -2- out of selector lever handle -3- to position indicated by distance -a-.
Then, with button -2- pointing toward front of vehicle, install handle -3- on selector lever and push down as far as possible.
Turn handle -3- until button -2- points toward driver's seat. The handle will engage in a vertical groove on the selector lever.

Push handle -3- down fully so it engages in circular groove on selector lever.
Press button -2- into selector lever handle -3-.
Pull up sleeve -1- until it engages in handle -3-.

the shifter **** will come of in any gear position just as long as you pull out on the button.

 

that it will its just how the diy put it....spp priority shipping sucks ***** i should have got this "Kit" Yesterday but nooooo..bast.ards

 

The stock **** sometimes is a bitch to get off. Mine seemed like it was glued on there - had to pull like a ****.

But it's a mod I would do again, thats for sure.
