Default audio sound system problem

ok heres the deal i finally connected my audio system .

the owner before me had a sony radio connected to it so all i did was ran the amp cable to the batt to the amp and the remote from the amp to the radio (blue cable) and the rca from the amp to the radio on the sub section behind the radio.

now my problem is the amp only works on the fm/am stations

when i put it to cd or aux it turns off and my regular bose still works.

that makes no sense on why it would only work on am/fm i would say you have a defective head unit

radio is brand new. they never even ran rca's to the back of the radio or a remote.

this doesent make any sense to me either ive always done my own systems since early 90's and this is a 1st.

i know that the old owner had some rca's cut and was running in the rear left speaker to the back of the left seat for a aftermarket amp same for the remote but all of that was dissconnected.

i took out all my interior and ran everything nice and clean and cleaned the interior.

hmmm well you can split the wire and make the amp run 24/7 and just put an on and off switch i did that for my buddies sub but yeah theres one wire that runs to the amp for remote which is on and off

doesent if turn on if you jump the pwr with remote from the amp.

amp only turns on for am/fm. im pretty asure it has to do something with the oem bose setup.

prb hit it again afterwork tommorow (1hr or so of day light)

i heard you can't run an aftermarket HU with the stock Bose system. if you have a factory amp, it will be mounted between the carpet and driver's side fender in the trunk. only facelift and post facelifts got factory amps though i think.

if you don't have a factory amp, i think the problem is in your HU. the only signal the amp gets is from the HU to turn on when the HU is on. double check your connection. what you really ought to do is rip the bose system out and run aftermarket oversized speakers. ImTheDevil has a full system, he can tell you the ins and outs

then why would they cut the remote and the rca from there setup to attach to the rear left speaker? and the interior speakers are bose ive checked.

the radio is brand new came wih the box and other jacks thats not even open for your mp3's and touch etc.

if worst comes to worst then i will just take out my kenwood from my cabby and see what happens direct.
