If you drained 4 quarts of transmission fluid out by mistake, did you put 4 new quarts of oil into the engine and now have 9 quarts in the engine? If so get the extra 4 out before running the engine.

Anyway, to the OP, did you originally plan to drain the oil without changing the oil filter? Because if you did see the oil filter, there would have been an oil drain bolt around the area.
Also, after you drain and refill the engine with oil, you have to check the dipstick just to double check you have put the right amount. If it's way pass the "FULL" line on the dipstick, then some where during the procedure, you have made a mistake.

so i just finished putting the new transmission fluid in, not as hard as it seems. I followed the link provided by fastera4theyyurs
and i redrained the oil and changed the oil filter.

Glad its taken care of... its an embarrassing mistake, but they happen. I forgot to tighten a tensioner back up on a customers car once, and the belt didnt squeal a bit when I took it for a short test drive. But of course as soon as the customer got in it to leave, it loosened up and squealed like hell. I felt like such an *******.
