How does AUDI quattro work?

Does it deliver power to all 4 wheels evenly... or only to the forward wheels and then to the rear wheels in times of slippage?

Is there a differential lock?

 

The quattro system is based on a center torsion differential that is setup to deliver torque where it is needed. Unless I got that from the options sticker on my car I can't remember.
