its on the back by the firewall look straight down, its in some pipe, open the resivor and let the air out first or the coolant is going to shoot everywhere

 

Ok I found it but its square, at autozone that's just called the temperature switch (http://www.autozone.com/autozone/par...uestid=7271638), the coolant sensor my car is round (http://www.autozone.com/autozone/par...uestid=7275597). I don't know if it means anything to this but it is a quattro

That's the square one that will replace the other one in the engine

 

nope you need a round one if the one on your car is round. if your not in a rush i have a round one with new o ring and clip. all brand new i made the mistake of buying a round one and needing a square one. i can ship it to you for whatever the auto zone one costs.

 

Well the thing is I followed the directions and under that wire in that pipe thing it is square

 

yes the connector is the only thing that changes not the sensor. you need the square one so the one you posted is correct. get that.
