Seems you need to learn more about the car you drive and the community you are part of.

I am the fastest of 3 A4's that have ran in the 10's. Out of those 3 I am the only one running a "Audi 1.8t" block. The other 2 were owned by Audi shops. The one from Ctapp ran a VW ABA 2 liter and the one 034 has runs a VR6. There have been plenty of others running in the 11's and tons running in the 12's.

I have also ran 10's in a daily driver S4, one of only 2 that have done so in the united states and the other one was fully gutted to a shell to run 10's at E-town.

LS1 in an Audi, now thats funny.

The reason Mike has that title is because he still has the original engine in the car, just fully built. He is not the highest horsepower A4. IF you want to talk about changing motors, 034 MotorSports has an A4 with a VR6 Turbo charged engine that puts out over 1k horsepower.

Also your motor swap kills one of the best attributes as to why people modify an Audi to go fast, and that's the AWD system which has been called one of the best if not the best AWD systems out there. And while Mike may hold the title of fastest A4 in the country, there are plenty of A4's that are dd's pushing 400awhp - myself hoping to be one real soon .......

It's all good .......

That's what 034 does!! They build monster Audi's ........

And the Money shot

There is also another build from a member on this forum who is pushing the limits as to what will fit in an A4 body as he is currently working on stuffing a 4.2L V8 that will be twin turbo charged ........

whys that funny? so if i swapped in an ls1 it wouldn't count as the fastest a4? hardly makes it worth it.

the reason why i don't get 1.8t's is it just too damn expensive for such modest horse power. thats why there are so few that are seriously fast. i have a customer right now spending far more on a 1.8t passat than its worth (i even tried talking him out of it). seems like a big waste to me is all.

so when i see you guys bad mouth the V6 guys, imho you guys are the fools. i shouldn't have said that all a4's are slow. I take that back. I'm sure there are a few that are respectable. then again I've seen Vauxhalls run 9's.

I'd like to so you fit an ls1 into an Audi B5. fitting a 4.2l V8 into an Audi is next to impossible and it is a lot shorter than an ls1 motor.

30v 2.8's run a low-mid 15 1/4 mile stock, with a good driver and obviously a manual tranny..

people forget that when the 30v came out it was the "superior" A4, the 1.8 was considered the "cheap" A4... until the world of tuning came into play.

I believe "economical" is the official and correct term. But I know how calling it "cheap" really serves your luxurious power seat, chrome window trim, and fake wood driven life Show me a time where the 2.8 was described specificaly as "surperior." No, your previous posts don't count.

the original msrp for the 2.8q is nearly $5000 more than the 1.8tq.

And? There is a difference between "cheap" and "inexpensive."
