Yeah, nothing like destroying a well balanced car that handles better than just about everything (but maybe a lotus) by dropping in a couple hundred more pounds in the front. There goes anything but going straight.

So Mike, any interest in going with a HTA turbo, either 35r or 37r? Seen a few evo dynos switching to an .82 + HTA and having faster spool (vs a standard .63) along with an addition 30whp over a normal 35r .82.

Im just glad Mike is sticking with the "run what ya brung" attitude. With revs comes power on these small disp motors and match that to 2step + antilag and you the potential to reach just about any et. Just think its funny when people talk running 6-8sec et's when these cars run alky with carbon fiber shells and tube chassis vs something like Mike's and others in this scene trying to break into low 10's and 9's on race gas and stock bodies. Its alot harder to get a 2800lb+ car to run 10's than it is to get a 1800lb car to run it and not to mention give it traction bars and alky. People REALLY need to talk apples vs apples instead of a whole freakin fruit basket!

No I dont plan on trying the HTA. My friend has the HTA in his car and I didn't see any difference between it and his standard GT35r. So the $1700 price tag isn't worth it unless the person plans on running 40psi which is when those people saw that 30whp gain over a standard GT35r. This happens because of the BW extended tip design wheel which helps increase the Pressure ratio of the flow map. I can get this in a BW turbo at a lower cost and since I only drag race it isn't like I really need a turbo with coolant cooling which the BW turbos dont have. At this point I am looking at trying a S366 or GT4088r on my single scroll manifold and then have FR build me a twin scroll manifold when they have time.
