Audi A4 1.8T (B5) photos wanted
Can somebody with the same model take a photo of their rear amp so I can figure out why the rear speakers won't work.
I cant see any way to connect RCA cables, so I think there might not be an amp present. If so, would there have been a point in putting rear speakers in the car and no amp in the first place.
The car has a stock tape player which I have changed for an Alba CD player.
Also on this subject, the stereo resets every time I turn the engine off. So it goes back to 0 bass, 0 treble and to the start of the CD. Any suggestions?

Ok thanks for that.
So where would the RCA ports be? I have just had a feel about and can't feel anything.
I will unscrew it later when I get hold of my tools, but I can't see a way that it can attach by RCA cables, it seems far too small.

They were right. You have to manually connect it at the headunit. I don't know if Audi used shielded wire or not but you'll need to find a wiring diagram, and install rca connectors on the low level signal lines headed to the rear amp. That way you can connect it to your standard headunit preouts. I'm sure this has been done before on these cars. I would do some more research.
The other option is run speaker wire from your new headunit to the rear speakers, or install a small amp.
