Out of curiosity, I went under my car today to see exactly how the stock muffler is connected to the resonator. I saw that the inlet pipe is welded to the resonator, so this would have to be taken to a muffler shop so it could be welded on. I'm assuming that the design was specified for a full cat-back system, thus supplying the pipe clamp and widened flange on the end. It's still definitely worth it, just find a good muffler shop that won't mess it up.
Now the question is whether or not it will sound any different than the stock muffler or just look look pretty.

sorry to bring this thread back from the way back pages, but I just got an email from ECS that they have more of those sport mufflers for sale and they're still a gazillion percent off lol. Just thought I'd throw it out there

Does anyone have pictures of this installed? I'm very interested... The aftermarket exhaust my A4 1.8T FWD came with is pretty loud. I don't mind it, but it's almost too loud when I have passengers. For the price of the sport muffler, it would be worth it to me if the tips don't stick out past the bumper. Otherwise I'll just keep what I've got.
