any ideas on how to reset the rear caliper pistons?

Try some Kroil or Deep Creep, or some similar penetrating oil to loosen up the threads if need be. You should use the piston screw-in tool though - you can do it with needlenose but you're better off just doing the free rental program at AutoZone and renting the caliper tool that screws it back in. On this car, fronts compress, but rears screw in. And like Midniteoyl said, make sure the reservoir cap is off.

yeah tho this is my for dog and pony show with audi...ive done some wrenching and i know a couple of things....never force anyting....never ghettto rig crap.....and id rather mess it up myself then pay some 11 dollar an hour kid to do the same **** job for 700 dollars
