Anti-theft acting strange
Hi, I'm new to this forum and had a question about my 2001 Audi A4 Quattro. I haven't had it that long, but I've noticed something has gone wrong just recently.
Basically when I first got the car, the Anti-theft was working perfect (including the indicator lights by the door locks and on the dash). Just recently though, all the security lights stopped flashing (or doing any kind of activity). The horn still sounds when I lock it, and if I push the motion sensor button on the pillar that makes the light activate momentarily, but other than that - nothing. I jumped in my car and locked it using the FOB and can't make the motion sensors activate either. According to the garage that I've been getting work done through, they said the Anti-theft is working well, except the lights.
Are there any idea's or suggestions on how to get those lights to activate or what it means when they don't? Also, is there any way to test the motion sensor? I can't seem to get it to go off. Thanks ahead of time!

I "test" my motion sensors accidentally all the time lol. Roll all the windows down, lock the car. Wait ~2-3 mins and stick your arm through one of the open windows and wave it around. If that doesn't set the alarm off you've got a problem. You can also try setting off the alarm by opening one of the doors from the outside using the inner door pull while the car is locked and the alarm is armed. That will also set it off.

realistically, just roll the windows down and lock it and the alarm will inevitably go off at some point if it works. If i lock my car with the windows down, the alarm goes off every time a passer-by farts... I never could master the motion sensor over-ride button on the B pillar...
