Default An annoying coolant leak..

Hey guys, ive got a coolant leak on my 1997 a4 1.8 t. I can't really figure out where its coming from but i know that its dripping down and leaking off the transmission. Its a pretty consistent and slow leak so ive just been running off distilled water. I can't really see where its leaking from so my question is.. is there any common area's to check for leaks on the a4?

its coming from the rear coolant flange. where the temp sensor plugs into.

the coolant flange yes. I've had quotes on mine when I thought mine was bad. Do it yourself man if you're even semi mechanically inclined. I had a quote for like 500 to do it.

My '97 1.8T has the same problem. I replaced both the o-rings, but it's still leaking out another spot. Can you guys help?

If you look behind the rear coolant flange, there is a hose that runs up behind it. It apprears to have a plastic collar...is this a hose clamp of some kind? This is where this car is leaking currently, and i'm can't see whether it's a hose clamp, or some kind of hose fitting, or some pre-formed collar.

I'm hoping that it's just a hose clamp of some kind. Can anyone tell me what this plastic collar is? It's about 2" long and is cracked all the way down the side, and thus the hose is leaking.
