if it was leaking oil into the turbine/compressor housing that could definitely be where the smoke was comin from.

 

meh. he's taking the turbo out to be more sure but I'm not having him replace it so I guess I'll be on the look out for a k03s... I can only work on my car on weekends. I hate not having it

 

well how long does it take you to save up for a k04 with a tune? i think you should go a little bigger

 

k04 is a waste. I think it's good for 220whp where the k03s is good for 215 and k03 is 195. I could be wrong about those numbers. I should be able to get a k03s with alright miles for $100-200 which shouldn't be much more than a normal k03 and ~$500 less than a k04.. an elim setup would be more worth it but for around the same cost ($2000 or less) I'd much rather do a t3/t4 bt build if I would want more power. plus t3/t4 is easier on rods and stuff. I have enough money to do this and I've thought about it but low and slow ftw. if I want a fast car it wouldn't be an audi a4

K04

The k04's lag is pretty much non-existant but you'll max out around 250hp and you won't be able to hold that power until redline. You will not have to change anything else except for the oil lines and software. For the aggressive files, you will need bigger injectors, an adjustable FPR, FMIC, and tuning. Some form of an aftermarket exhaust is also highly recommended.

 

250hp on a k04 I don't think is likely on a quattro b5 a4. I'm pretty sure the highest recorded hp for a k04 was a little under 255 and it was on a fwd vw and was only a non drivable spike. the non existent lag could be too sudden and result in rods going bad too. not 100% sure about all that but either way k04 ftl I just want a replacement k03s since it's not much more than k03
