oh hai

just kidding, if you couldn't tell

I did get to wash it for the first time though.
I didn't have a cel, but I scanned the car anyway and got two codes.
p0117, which has to do with the engine coolant temp sensor and I haven't installed the new sensor I got from ecs yet so hopefully that fixes that..
p1136, which is a fuel/air problem? there is a vacuum line that is slightly cracked and I bought a replacement for it. hopefully that fixes that problem..
car's running well other than that.

I think the previous owner may have disabled the cel the cel light goes on with all the other dash lights when I turn the key once so the bulb is there and working. anyone know any ways to enable/disable the check engine light..?

I think a lot of codes dont trigger a CEL. Minor things wont flash it, thats what I've noticed. I had a few random misfires, and no CEL.

And yes, when you put your key into the ON position, the CEL should come on as well as all the gauges. Its a self check.

Probably a bad bulb. Drop by autozone, they might have a new one and they can scan your ECU for free just to be sure. If not at autozone, ECS has them for sure.

If you're worried about yer CEL working, you could always do something that we KNOW will set it off. Unplug one of the O2 sensors and go for a drive.

little update. installed this today

I was seeing 8-10 psi in the low rpm's.. never went over 10. is that kinda high for stock..?
today I ordered an ecu with the newest giac tune, I was going to wait but it was too good of a deal ($275).. I also ordered a new forge 007 dv that I found for a good price the other day. my spring break's this week and those two parts should be here one of these days so I should have them in soon. I think I should be satisfied with that and save up to get low.. haven't checked out what's up with the cel issue.

sedan news. found out the timing belt (which was replaced less than 10k miles ago) skipped a few teeth and messed a lot up.... not sure exactly what it needs yet but I should find out soon..

sorry to hear about the TBelt. Thats crazy, those things have constant tension. Did you have the updated tensioner?

Wait wait wait, you're 2.8, sorry. Probably different ball game here.

eh not TOO different, they do make heavy duty tensioners for the 2.8

(side note, was cruising ECS last night and saw the 2.8 cam alignment tool: $180.00?!?!? )

aledelic, what were the circumstances of the t-belt job? did you have it done at a reputable shop? any chance they'll take responsibility for it? hopefully you just bent a valve or two and didn't put one of them through a piston
