I feel bad for you guys that don't get snow
also does anyone know where this connects to...? I'm having overheating problems with the avant, the coolant temp goes way up after driving for like 10-15 minutes and the temperature light flashes.. I noticed that the passenger side fan under the hood was not working at all and I'm hoping that's where this plugs into... I couldn't find the female connector
(this is right behind the lower middle grille)

Hey my friend,
That there is a outside temps sensor (the temp display you get in the middle of your lcd, if you have one)and has nothing to do with your ac condenser fan. Your fan is run electrically through relay thats partially activated by condenser temp/pressure sensor which located right under the passenger headlight. You'll have to play with the relays and swap to figure out if its the relay, or put 12v directly to the fan motor terminals, and see if its your fan thats jacked up.
By the way, that just clips on to a plastic ring that part of power steering cooler line, at the bottom right section of you rad while looking straight at your car. Think you should be able to see it if you remove your middle bottom grille

ah I see. at first I thought that was just a temp sensor but then I noticed the fan wasn't running and thought that might be the problem. I'll check out those relays tomorrow, thanks for the response avant buddy

oh really? I guess this will be a harder fix than I thought.. I don't think I have a leak. it got really low the first drive it overheated so I filled it up and it stayed at the same level last time I checked it.. I hope my water pump's not bad... that should have been changed with the timing belt 13k miles ago though.

yep have you tried running the ac to see if it has kicked on or anything orr maby you could do this =] http://supremepowerparts.com/2/1/0/5..._category.html

that fan definitely doesn't go on for anything but the ac? I was hoping I'd get lucky and it wouldn't overheat at all today but it did. I guess first I'll look for the coolant temp sensor and thermostat.. does anyone know how to check if the water pump is bad? my cars just don't like me
