Sorry to hear about this man! Glad everyone was okay and the car wasn't damaged that badly.

I'll keep a look out for Europa Blue hood. Shipping is probably gonna rape you tho.

Is there a cheaper better solution?

Also I am going to buy the ballasts and bulbs from DDM for 49.99.
I think they're worth it for the price. they're not too different than the headlights off of facelift b5's, maybe you can find a used set of those for cheaper. the HIDs will work fine on either but I don't think there's a place for a ballast on the bottom of non xenon a4 headlights if you got a slim ballast kit.

there's room for ballasts all over under the hood. but if you get a slim ballast kit you can place it right under the headlight.. you'll see when you get them. I use those headlights with a normal, non slim hid kit. a slim ballast would just look a little nicer under the hood.

6000k is like a white with a kinda blue tint to it. 8000k is just more blue but I don't think it's too much. I have 6000k and probably wouldn't go over though. If you want white with a little blue then probably 6000k, depends how much blue you want..

4300K is what stock cars come with. Also note that higher watts ballasts will wash the color.

How's the hood search going? There's actually an Audi junkyard in SoCal (never been but was told about it). I could find out more info and give them a call if you're interested. Perhaps Greyhound shipping would make it cheaper?

hood search is whatever. I went to a local vw junkyard and they told me it was from a 97 but I thought the hood they gave me was santorin. I took it anyway since it was only $150 and not in terrible condition, it is santorin though. I'm in school for the next two weeks without my car and if I can't find a europa hood by then I'll probably just put the santorin one on.. and I'll keep that until I can either find a europa one or until I feel like getting it painted..I'm waiting for hear from two people about their europa a4 part outs. I haven't gotten my fines in the mail though so I dunno how much money I want to spend. still haven't decided if I wanna raise it for the winter or not.
