Default Airbag Light is on and wont turn off

The Airbag light in the dashboard is on and it will not turn off. Have tried to see if the connection under the seat in connected, that did nothing to solve the problem. I dont know what else to do to fix this problem. Any advice would be helpful. Thanks

Hmmm... I have same thing, came on after small damage to front bumper due to a crappy curb. Not sure how to fix. Might just check the sensor at the front?

mine went on about 6 months ago after i scraped my frame coming out of my friends driveway. ive been meaning to scan it for a few months but havnt got there yet hah. i dont know if it was related to the scrape or just coincidence. the airbag modules in the b5 do sometimes burn out so if it isnt a connector it could be that.

even if it was just a loose conection under the seat you have to clear the code in order for the light to go away! if it keeps coming back then its something else... if it wont turn off (even with vag-com) like mine its probably the module!

who needs airbags anyways?

Yep you have to scan it first, make sure you are messing with the right bag, then actively clear the code with VagCom or that light is gonna stay on.

mine came on a while ago, never hit anything. i have bottomed out once. but that was way way back. mine comes and goes as it pleases. it blinks sometimes, or will stay solid, or even both. idk doesn't bother me cause its not a CEL lol.

Anyone no how to get rid of the Service Inspection thing that pops up when you turn on your car. I had luck with some thing with by pushing down on the odmeter and turing the key for a oil inspection light. However, that doesn't seem to work for this even though they both happen at the same spot. I've just gotten used to it flashing when I turn on my car, but if someone no's a way to fix it that'd be great.
