Unhappy Airbag light

Recently my airbag light stays on for about 2 minutes before turning off on my '96 Audi A4. Anybody have this problem and a possible solution to fixing this? Worried it won't pass inspection.

Gotta scan to find out which bag istripping the light. Probably the driver seat bag. Use the search - there have been a lot of discussion about this and solutions as well.

Since all of the codes I can think of will leave the airbag light on permanently till it is reset, Im thinking you might have a communication issue between the instrument cluster and airbag module since yours sounds intermittent. But youll pretty much need a vag com if your gonna do anything about it.

I've got a standard OBDII code reader, but not a vag com. Didn't see any codes for the airbag with the standard reader.

Pretty sure you actually need VAG-COM related software to read the ABS module.

Yeah with what you have your probably only going to be able to check for engine codes.. Youll want something that can scan for instrument cluster and airbag codes..
