Default After market cd player fitting

Hello! We recently bought an Audi A4 97 plate Avant. Superb car! We want to fit a cd player. Will i need a fascia plate? How easy is it to fit? Thanks

Its definitely doable, difficulty depends on the radio. I'm not certain that Audi offered the big symphony radio in 97, maybe someone else knows. The symphony radio is larger, whats called "double-DIN." The other radio (the one I have, but can't find a picture of at the moment) is slightly larger than single din. Best Buy should have a trim plate on hand, and they do free installation . If you're going to DIY, it would be best to use an adapter wiring harness pigtail so you don't have to hack up the OEM harness. Good luck!

btw, welcome to the forum!

Yes, you have the single din Concert Radio, and a adapter plat will be necessary as its wider than the usual DIN aftermarket radios. and an adapter harness is definitely recommended to make a clean nice connection and I suggest using either soldering, or using crimp coupling for your wire connection, its much more secure than just pig tail and taping over. You can find these crimp couplings at your local autozone or advance auto or wateva parts chain is around you. You can assure yourself of everything you need by going to this site: (i have already searched it for you)
