Advice (from me) for changing the crankshaft pilot bearing.
I got a new crankshaft pilot bearing and I was like "WTF how do I get this one one out?!" So I found out that Autozone has a pilot bearing piller through their loan-a-tool program, and so I loaned that and the slide hammer that it goes on for $45 total (returned when I returned the tools)... Reason for this thread is for me to let all of you know that the tool doesn't fit right. I had to work on the INSIDE of the two jaws of the tool with the sanding drum of a Dremel for about five minutes before it would fit.
The tool is OEM brand p/n/ 27059.
Just thought you guys might be able to use that information if you're going to do this. Either don't get Autozone's tool or be ready to need to modify it a bit. Or if you end up loaning the same tool that I did then you get one already modded it's not noticible except that the inside of the jaws are no longer black. (Could have spray painted it but I was lazy.)

YOU TOOK A DREMEL AND CUT AND MODDED A TOOL THAT WASNT YOURS?!?!?!???? AND THEN RETURNED IT??!?!?
I'm sorry dude, not cool. If you you're going to do something like that buy your own tool. The next guy in line who goes to rent that may not be able to use it on his application.

Um, it's not going to make the tool stop working for any application. It's an expanding tool and I sanded off a small amount to let it fit into smaller spaces. It still expands as necessary. I fixed an actual problem with the design of the tool by modifying it in a very slight way that would only be noticible by the lack of paint on that part. Not even 1mm shaved off, hence using the sanding drum and not a cutting wheel or something else drastic.

Lol, the autozone tool authority over here. I've modified plenty of tools to work better for me, most of which were mine, but whatever. When I got new stock head bolts, they didn't fit thru one cam cap because the heads were slightly larger. Used a dremel and rheemed out the hole a bit and got on with my day.
