Advice on chipping my 01 A4 1.8T
#11
You gotta realize that you are paying for the APR or GIAC, etc. name to a degree when you are paying that much. It doesn't take as much R&D to perfect a chip tune as you think. The 1.8T and TDI is what speedtuning gets the most business from, and they seem to have a respectable amount of R&D involved on those platforms.

Thanks to everyone else though for their input. Looking into GIAC as we speak. APR's website is down. Would rather have the best than spare a few bucks.

i have used apr, and now i have the giac.
apr definitely was smoother, and seemed to be a little more top end power, and my giac is definitely a tq monster!
for my style of driving, i like the giac better
also something for you to consider, are you planning on doing the k04 upgrade at anytime?
if so...then giac is your answer, i have the k04, but am running the k03 program until i get the 5bar and injectors needed for the true k04 program, cant wait!
unitronic also has good numbers, and from what i hear, good customer service.....

If u already have GIAC, then its just the cost of the labor to load the K04 basic file in.
