Question ABS problem

i recently had my ABS and brake light turn on, ABS stays on and the brake light keeps blinking, some times it stays like that for a long time and then both lights turn off. ill drive it around for a while and then it starts doing the same thing all over again, and back and forth. i haven't had any work done on the brakes for a while now. what do you guys think? maybe a sensor? brake pads are still in good condition. when i try to connect the code reader it doesn't read ABS codes, it just says ERROR!!! If its the ABS module then I've heard modulemasters.com was a good place to send it. before i send it and pay for all that, im trying to figure out maybe its something else. any suggestion?

If it were the wheel sensor the ABS light would only come on, not the brake light. Brake pads would make the wear sensor come on which is a completely different light and only on newer models with the displays in the instrument cluster. It sounds like a classic bad module, you could check the fuse (unlikely since the problem is intermittent), or check wiring to the module (also unlikely).

Well if you disconnected the ABS module, it should have made the flashing brake and ABS light stay on permanently..

i didn't drive it around, with it disconnected. weird that it does that all of a sudden and then its all back to normal and then ABS light on and brake flashing.

Yeah well if the car was even switched to the on position, with the module disconnected it should have stayed on permanently.
