I raced a 96 civic coupe that had a "full on" exhaust, W/ no cat of course, "megan" headers, aem typhoon cai, and NOS stickers. He said he had JE internals but I highly doubt it cuz I spanked last night's dinner out of him in my stock B5. After the race he said he had to take out his sub box cuz it weighed him down. I doubt it made a difference in a 5 car length loss since my car is 3420 lbs (yes I got it weighed) compared to his 3000 lb piece.
(BTW I live in the middle of no where so we can race w/o harming pedestrians)

was it a ex dx model?
you can put all the stuff you want on a non vtec motor and get like 12 total hp
a stock ex runs fairly decent, add stuff to it and they can get low

^^^ I'm pretty damn sure its an ex. Plus he has ngk plugs so he's fo real. He says how he's gonna put a mugen motor in with a nissan turbo.
Yea bolt-ons don't help much any N/A engine. He's the idiot tuner/hillbilly around here. I told him to get his starter and clutch fixed first cuz his car sounds like crap.

Hondas don't have torque, so if he's bumpin two 12s in the size box that kids around here run, it would make a difference. Seriously though, driving a car shouldn't be about dick swinging. Drive it cause you enjoy it and let him do the same.

EX = D16 with ~100-110hp and 80something tq. Runs 17sec 1/4's
EX with stockB16, full exhaust will run basically 15flat all day long on street tires.
B16 with a Hondata chip should run .3-.5 faster.

Egh... he kept bugging me about it. Kept running his mouth. Plus I was a little curious. I didn't mention I also swapped outta my A6 a 12" L5 with a Kicker box (which I don't even use since it got kinda old) which both weigh a good 80lbs. I still had 400 lbs on him. Oh well. I don't see why a stock 1.8t couldn't beat a mildly mod'd Civic.

tell me what kind of civic it is and im sure i can find one to run on the street this weekend. LI is littered with 'worked' civics. theres only one road on LI that i race on cause its about 3/4 mile straight with no side streets and no through traffic. civics are annoying and they all think cause they can go fast down a 1/4 mile that their car is fast. any civic thatcan get me in a 1/4 i would put money that i can take them on a track, a real track with turns and ****. no 1/4 b.s.
