Default A4 Shaking Problem when going faster

Hello,

I have a problem when I am going over 60 miles per hour and that problem is....that the car starts to shake badly including the steering wheel. I have a bad wheel bearing and am going to be getting this fixed this week and was just wondering if this has something to do with the problem or is this a new problem and if so any ideas? THANKS!

one or more of your wheels is probably out of balance. bad wheel bearing usualy doesn't shake too bad.

If you live in an area with snow, snow may be packed into your rims causing your cars equilibrium to be off balance. This happens to me all the time, just knock the snow out and your as good as new.

Well sounds like the obvious but did you hit a curb or anything. Sounds like alignment or Wheel off balance. But ive never herd of a wheel just "going off balance" but could happen and probably does.

sounds like you simply lost a wheel weight...

get your wheels balanced, and it may be time to get a front wheel alignment at the same time

gl!

I have the same problem, i have been needing an alignment for a while, and about two weeks ago my steering wheel just started doing the same, but im assuming its cause of wheel balance. im going to be doing my brakes and everything than getting the wheels balanced and aligned, hopefully this solves it.

If your wheel bearing has been bad for a long time, it could be your wheel getting ready to fall off. Have it checked ASAP just in case.

I had this problem before too. I was going to get the wheels balanced when I noticed that my 2 rear tires had uneven wear, it was very noticeable. I took the car in and they said that can happen from having bad shocks. I have been told this numerous times too, but I personally think that this is not very likely. I have noticed that during winter, if it snows a lot. My car will shake because there is ice or snow stuck in the rims. So my advice to you is, check if your tires have uneven wear because if you have been riding a lot with unbalanced tires, they are going to wear unevenly and you're going to need new tires. If not, hopefully you can get them balanced and you're good.

Good luck
