Hi all, my first post on here,
got an a4 1.8t on a 1996 plate, had the car in the family since new,
full service history, new gear box last year new engine 4 years ago,
just noticed a knocking noise develop under constant drive ie constant 40 = knock knock knock sound like a cv, though only in a straight line, if I accelerate or decelerate it goes, had it in 2 garages and up on ramps, both checked drive shafts and all lower ball joints cv`s etc and neither can diagnose the problem,
had both wheels off and can find nothing wrong, any ideas welcome, many thanks in advance
