A 1999 AUDI A4 1.8 TURBO AUTOMATIC TIPTRONIC. I HAVE HAD THIS CAR FOR ABOUT 1 YEAR it was GREAT UNTIL I REMOVED THE BATTERY FROM IT. THE CAR SAT FOR ABOUT A WEEK UNTIL I REPLACED IT. AFTER THAT THE CAR WOULD JUST START AND SHUT OFF IMMEADIATLY. IT WAS THROWING A THROTTLE BDY CODE SO I BOUGHT A REBUILT ONE AND CHANGED IT. THE SAME THING WAS HAPPENING... SO PUT THE OLD ONE BACK ON... THE CODE WAS SAYING LOW VOLTAGE TO THROTTLE BODY OR SOMETHING LIKE THAT..... ANY IDEAS??????? IM SO PISSED WITH THIS CAR IM READY TO SELL IT....

 

did u re adapt the throttle body?, leave the car in ACC with the engine OFF for about 5 min.. then try starting it

 

should i disconnect the battery and reconnect and then try to leave it in acc or it doesnt matter?

 

I would disconnect it and just start from scratch again, only puts you out 30 mins why not?

I have a 2002 Audi a4 1.8t that turns on and then off almost imedietly after turning on..if i give it gas it will stay on for an extra 2seconds.The car had randomly shut off when ideling and has had this problem since. I recenty changed the rack and pin, clutch and igniton switch. The mechanic who fixed my car told me i needed 2 new motor mounts and i have been driving without it for about a week and a half if this may be the cause. Please help!

 

Key immobilizer? I dont think that would be affected if you remove the battery though.

 

maybe MAF troubles? try disconnecting and reconnecting the maf sensor
