hi im new owner of 98 audi a4 with 2000 headlight. very noob...

my first european car.

I just want to know if this car doesnt really have front parking lights just like from other cars that are usually located in the headlights or corner lights. when i switch the park lights. it only have the tail lights and dashboard / cluster lights on

i am just wondering that maybe it wasnt connected. or problem with the electrical connections, fuse etc.

Check your owners manual. They don't have them here in the US

I had a 96, and now have a 99.5. Both of them have parking lights in front. Move the light lever to the first position and the front corners light up.

 

yes i put it in the first position. but no front park lights. only the rear light and cluster or dashboard. do your corner lights have 2 bulbs? or just using the same corner light bulb (like some headlight bulbs with hi and lo)

my headlight is like the one for 2000- 2001 models with xenon where the corner light is included in the headlight. my switch is above the signal switch. one up, turns on the the park lights (tail lights and cluster only), one more for the headlights.

The corner lights are dual-filament bulbs. The fact that you have a 98 with headlights from a 2000 makes me think wiring issues. Who did the wiring? Did you use a voltmeter or did you just WAG it?

 

i dont have idea who did it. i bought it with that kind of headlight. the guy who sold me the car is a manager in PGA cars(manila, philippines) dealer of audi and porsche, told me that model doesnt have front park lights.

in 99.5 - 2000 models where are the parklights located?

 

They're in the corner of the headlights. Like CCA4 said, it's a dual filiment bulb. One brighter filiment for the turn signal, a dimmer one for the parking light.

There is no single. The parking lights for every Audi ever produced are on the front next to the headlights. Before 99.5, B5's came with two-piece headlights. After that, they came with one-piece headlights. The former had integrated fog lights, the latter saw the fog lights moved down into the lower grilles in the bumper. Because of this, the wiring for them is completely different.
