98 A4 2.8 Starting Questions/Issues
Was just wondering if anyone had any input or solutions before I start digging into this one to narrow it down.
First, I have a 'temp sensor' code every now and then.
When it's REALLY cold outside, and it's sat overnight or a few days, car starts immediately and great and continues to do so when warmed up all day long.
When it's warm out, and it's sat overnight or a couple days, it takes awhile to start (to get fuel)..but once engine is warmed up, starts immediately again and starts all day long...
I have turned key to ON position to try and 'prime' fuel pump to see if that would help and it doesn't.
Could it be the fuel pump? Coils? or Temp sensor?
Anyone with any insight would greatly help...
Thanks Audiers...

Is that your only code? If it is, then you can rule out cam and crank position sensors (they'll both throw a code). It could definitely be the coolant temp sensor - they're notorious and can do all sorts of screwy things to your car's operation. Since you're occasionally getting a code I'd definitely change it - even if it's not the issue, you're heading off future problems since the B5 has proven repeatedly that just as sure as you'll need to change your oil, you'll need a new CTS sooner or later.
