Default 98.5 A4 2.8 running real rough

Hi, I bought a totaled out/clean title 98.5 A4 2.8 quattro tip back in june or july that had slid into the rear end of an SUV in January and sat outside till i Bought it. I got all the parts for the car and have had it assembled for a little while now, and it runs, but very rough. It will start and you have to give it gas to keep it running, and at about 1,100 rpm's it surges down to ~500 and so on. I drove it around the block and it barely moved, So I'm just looking for some input on where to start when I go home next time to work on it. The possible causes I've came up with are, really bad, old gas, I added a fresh 3.5 gallons of premium and stabil and it still did it. I may just need to add more, or drain it somehow. Bad plugs/ wires, or dirty intake/MAF. or some sort of cooling issue( I know BMW's act funny when theres a cooling issue), when I put the new radiator on aside from the two main hoses there are two metal hoses and connections that I may have connected wrong. Or the cooling system needs to be re-bleed, which I am sure of. Pretty much I would just like some input on where to start, any help is appreciated. Thank you, Nick

Check your plugs and see if they are fouled. You could also have a bad secondary air pump.

alright, sounds good, Thanks I will look into both of those. Also what happened to this forum? I don't remember it ever being so dead. I feel like if I would've asked this question or any question a year ago I would've got a lot more response, maybe i'm wrong

I dont see a big issue with the way I worded my question, I'm just looking for some input on where to start next time I am home to work on it. It just seems like this forum has been a little slow lately in comparison to the last few years, thats all.
