'97 A4 stereo questions
I posted this in the Electronics section but I'm posting it here as well since there is a lot more traffic.
I have a '97 A4 2.8 Quattro.
I understand that I have the Delta CC head unit. My first question is: What are the differences between the Bose and non-Bose system?
My second question is: How would I be able to tell which stereo I have (besides the "BOSE" lighting up on the display -- I suspect the head unit may have been replaced by the previous owner)?

RE: '97 A4 stereo questions
Open your fold-down rear seats and look at the speakers mounted under the rear parcel shelf. There should be stickers on the magnets; if they say Nokia, then you have non-Bose. If they say Bose; well, then you have Bose. Also, I'm pretty sure the Bose system included a pair of speakers mounted in the rear doors, and there should be Bose badging on the door speaker grilles.
The non-Bose system uses a head unit manufactured by Blaupunkt and speakers and amps manufactured by Nokia (yes, the same Nokia that made that crappy phone you got rid of ten years ago), the Bose system uses speakers and amps manufactured by... yep, Bose. Oh boy.
My advice? Yank it all out and replace it with an Alpine head unit and Alpine or Polk speakers.
