Ghost and MidniteOyl are right on the money. No matter what, unless you can wrench on it yourself, you're looking at a pretty penny just to find out what needs to be done and what more it's going to cost you.

Go into your User CP page and update your location info (but post it here as a reply anyhow). Maybe someone local to you from this forum can pitch in and help. If you're near upstate NY, the crew of us up here can do it. Otherwise, I'm sure someone out there is on the forum, lives near you, and would be willing to at least help you determine your next most logical step.

Sounds very kind, even though I am located in upstate NY, (Massena). But the car is up in Montreal as I'm going to school here.

Just a quick question... I found someone with the same engine as mine except his car has a manual transmission and mine is automatic. Would the engine with a manual transmission fit into my car which has an automatic transmission? Or would the swap require extra parts time and labor?

Default 2001, A4 2.8L, Quatro

My wife has the same problem, the car stoped on the road with 30-40 km/h.
The OBD set " cam shaft position sensor circuit"
Now I'm waiting for the answer from the shop.
What happened with your car

Default A4, 2.8 quatro

The valves are damaged, I'll buy a new set, or head -this is cheaper than new car.
