I wouldn't call it rice my self as a lot of the wheels available for the JDM market are actually nice. Work wheels, Rays, and other well-known Japanese brands usually make the wheels in 5X114.3. There are some 5X112 out there but they are usually custom made and cost a fortune.
+1.... its a pain to find a lot of wheels like volks or other decent rims... back when i ad my 240, rims seem to be everywhere and cheap haha

Maybe I can get the guy to throw in a nice set of wobble bolts and get a test fit. Of course, I would definitely need a drop and some A8 brakes!

Do you really want to trust "no name" wheels for $650? Just askin'

Although it's not a high price, I wouldn't call that a steal either.

That's what I was gonna say. There are better deals out there.

Or you could send a little more and get something else.

+1 to what euro_2nr said. for 650, you could get 18s with rubber. just look around and you can find super good deals. i got my 18s with rubber for 180 lol. they're a little beat up but for 180 with rubbers, i can't complain. just be patient and look around. i think it took me 6 months to find my deal

Yeah, I'm going to just keep looking. The car is about to sit in the driveway for another 6 months, so why rush it?

If you're willing to run the wobble, like I stated, the wheels with the 5X114.3 are cheaper and they have more options.

Somehow, in my mind, the wobble just seems less than perfectly safe, especially with the power mods I'm planning!

Yeah, it's arguable but the company had been around for 10+ years and I haven't heard of any complaints so far (a lot of the VW crowds run these).
