What? Why would you...oh yeah that looks a lot better. They could have at least used a darker yellow to start with..

Where's the video?!

Let's face it. I think the coils look better and that's all that really matters.

I need Chris to come out here with his GoPro to be my videographer. Seriously, I can take a video of engine start from inside the car, but driving with the camera could prove difficult without a copilot.

Yesterday I got my exhaust leak fixed. I originally reused the gaskets between the manifolds and down pipes. I hope to NEVER have to pull that exhaust off again. I know that I'll have to do it again for some reason, but I've had to do it so many times recently.

I also got my A6 strut brace installed. I love having a parts car to get stuff like this from. Soon I'll install the rear brakes from the A6 as well.

I picked up a new PCV to install today. Hopefully it solves my random misfire code.

New PCV installed. The bag said "Made in China" but the valve itself still claimed to me made in Germany and had all of the identical markings/numbers from the original.

The original leaked so badly that I had smothered it in RTV. New one looks better and seems to have eliminated my random misfire code for now.

Painted my calipers today. The G2 paint was super easy to use and looks great.

Also painted the A6 calipers that are going on the rear. Hopefully I'll get a chance to install these tomorrow.

If you didn't like the last update, then you certainly won't like this one...

Installed the A6 rear brakes today.

Front or rear?

For the front I used the aluminum uprights from the front of the 4.2 A6, rotors, pads, and HP2 calipers.

On the rear, I used the rear calipers from the A6 (I think that these are the same calipers from the rear of the S4. The carriers are from the A6 as well. You'll need the lines for these calipers too as they are banjo fittings. For rotors I used the rear 269mm rotors from an A8. Pads are actually the same as the A4 pads. I replaced mine because it was a good excuse to trash the cheap pads the PO had installed.

There was a small amount of clearancing required on a nub that sticks out on the upright. The hardest part was getting the hand brake cables connected. It's tight, but they do fit. I need to do some more bleeding tomorrow since the pedal isn't quite as firm as I would prefer.

For what it's worth, the average cell phone or iPad video will be blurry and have terrible exposure. These pictures are great, and when you're comparing the old brake disk to the new, I don't know what a video would add.

I don't want video of his brakes, I want video of him hooning with lots of V8 noise and possible tire smoke.
