Fair enough.

Well, I spent about 2.5 hours today getting my hood open after the cable came off of the holder. Great way to waste an afternoon.

Also got the parts car about ready to go to the scrap yard. If anyone wants something from it, speak now or forever hold your peace.

the cylinders cant be drectly across from each other. the two cylinders that would be directly across from each other need to be a certain amount of degrees spaced apart. if they could some how make a connecting rod that would connect two cylinders directly across from each other, the engine would have a terrible wobble. i'm not good at explaining this but look at this picture. note how the v6 is actually 3.5 cylinders long. the cylinders must be arranged this way to maintain the correct difference in degrees between cylinders.

Actually it would be a radial engine wouldn't it?

The pistons are actually staggered in a radial configuration too. Another interesting fact is that all radial engines have an odd number of cylinders...

In other news I've logged over 170 miles since getting it running and things seem to be going well. Tomorrow I'll work on tucking the exhaust up higher so as not to scrape on small pebbles in the road. Parts car is also going to the scrapper tomorrow.

One thing that is bothering me is the oil warning light. How often do the level sensors go bad? Mine will just go off randomly at times. I don't seem to leak or use any oil and the level is good. Thoughts?

Only an odd number of cylinders in each bank. Dual bank radials have an even number of cylinders

(e.g. P&W R-2800 double wasp has 18 cyls Pratt & Whitney R-2800 Double Wasp - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia)

Okay, you got me.

Today started out with removing 2600 lbs of scrap from the driveway. Don't worry we replaced the 4.2l with an oven. 500 degrees on Bake! Also has the self cleaning option.

I spent the rest of the day fixing my exhaust. I was informed by previous threads that the 2.8 down pipes would work with the 4.2. They do bolt up, but your cats will be about 1.5" from the ground. The pipes also run extremely close to the transmission mounts.

I also welded up a tie bar for the lower subframe mounts. I think the S4 came with such a bar, but I've always wanted to have one on my A4

Side note, how are your projectors holding up since the retrofit? Any issues?

Video...what do you want video of?

The projectors are great. So much more light than the H7 halogens and the bixenon part doesn't hurt when you want to light up the night.

^We've got a comedian here.

Something along the lines of a start-up at the engine with the hood open, some revving, acceleration in and out of the car...the usual.

I don't have a B5 anymore so I get excited when cool builds happen.
