Update - The Billet Steel option for this kit is no an added charge, so the kit is the same price with either the Aluminum or Steel flywheel. The steel flywheel is also 20 lbs vs the really light 11.1 lbs Aluminum flywheel. So anyone that wants a LWFW/Clutch setup that has no gear rattle and more hold then a standard A4 clutch then this is the setup you would want.

Video of the Steel flywheel has been added to the 240mm Clutch/flywheel product page on my web site.

Any insight on the hp ratings for these clutches?

Would it be safe to say you could run a 240mm fx300 in the same setup that would require a 228mm fx400? Also, what are the benefits of running the 240mm clutch/flywheel?

Correct, the 240mm FX300 should hold as much power as a 228mm FX400 setup. It is a CM S4 2.7t clutch which as we know tends to make more tq, so we know that clutch in a FX300 and FX400 can hold plenty of tq/hp.

Comparing them together, the 240mm FX300 should hold about 120 tq/hp more then the 228mm FX400. I know guys running the 228mm FX400 on their built A4's pushing 350whp and have even launched them at the drag strip without a problem.

The 240mm kit uses a ductile pressure plate ring while the 228mm kits do not, this means it can handle way more heat since the grain of the metal is tighter. Not sure if you have seen a standard 228mm pressure plate crack, but I have had it happen twice and its not a pretty sight.

It also comes with a stronger pressure plate cover, stronger fingers, stronger flat springs(side springs) and more clamping load.

Hello. I want to install this kit on my b6 Audi A4 1.8t. It a 2004 and has the 6 speed tranny instead of 5 speed. Do you Know if this type of kit works on a 6speed ? Is the clutch kit the same for a 5 or 6 speed trans? Thx!
