21 psi?
some1 told me a stock 1.8t engine could handle 21 pounds of boost, just from a chip. This sounds alittle dangerous to me. The car is a 2000 a4 with a factory rebuilt engine, (manual trans). can u really run this much psi without running into major trouble?? remember this car WOULD BE A DAILY DRIVER and i would hope that it could last ATLEAST 4-5 YEARS!!! also would u need to relace anything like the waste gate or any other part of the turbo?
Let me know wat u think.

Read the stickies noob!
jp.. everyone does it.
But what chip were you looking at? The giac chip ive heard people claiming anywhere up to 25psi on vdubs and audis. just read around.. and definitely read the stickies...

I really don't think the K03 is capable of really sustaining that much boost. The engine can probably hold no problems, but you'll need to upgrade the turbo, injectors, FMIC, and stuff like that to make it work right.
Making it last for 4-5 years as a DD? Not too sure about that one...

I peak at about 20 psi with a GIAC chip and N75J valve. The N75J is suppose to smooth out the boost curve so that it does not spike so severly and is a more gradual buildup. And I dont usually dont spike it very often because its a DD and not a race car
Mike Hood used to run 26 psi on a custom tuned ko3 setup for a year or more and said the turbo was fine.
