2004 Audi A4 3.0 Quattro Issues
Took my car into audi today as the check engine light had come on. Flashed a couple of times when I started it and then decided to remain stable. Looks like misfires in the engine have lead to a coolant leaking into cylinder 6. Need to replace a head gasket and the catalytic converter.
The car drives amazing outside of the bad fuel consumption. At best only getting 400km per tank. But labor alone will be $2000.00 bucks. The guy also mentioned if there was warping of a cylinder then I would have to pay even more. Parts will be expensive. Looks like I would have to spend approx 3-6k to fix the issues.
Any advice would be much appreciated. The car has about 206000 km on it at the moment.

Be careful that this guy isn't scamming you. Head gasket will be necessary if there is lots of coolant leaking, but if it's just a little I honestly wouldn't worry about it too much. From my understanding, your headgasket shouldn't be leaking unless you have been over heating. Misfires you will feel - the car will shake. This likely isn't due to some coolant being in your cylinders unless there's lots. Make sure you don't have any vacuum leaks, and get your car scanned with a VAG-COM before you go make any big purchases.

I'd get a second or even a third opinion. Those prices are ridiculous...
Take it to a independent shop. why are you taking it to the Audi stealership, when you know they will bend you over and **** you, without any lube? unless you have a warranty..which i doubt on a 2004.
