2001 Audi A4 Engine Bay Noise!
Hey guys,
I am looking to buy a 2001 Audi A4 (V6, ~60k miles, AWD) from a private seller and I went over to his house today for a test drive and to see the car in person. Overall it looks like it was very well maintained except for a few things. First, he said he hit a low hanging branch and chipped the windshield. He said he could get this replaced for $200. I don't know where you could go to replace a full front windshield on a 2001 A4 for $200. Second, I stopped the car in a parking lot to look underneath the body for rust issues etc. After I stopped the engine, I popped the hood and heard a sound that was coming from the left side of the engine bay (passenger side) that sounded like a fan winding down or a fan cooling something. I have searched and read that it might be a fan. I am completely new to Audis so I don't know if this is normal or not. Please help me so I don't make a $9k mistake.
Thanks for any replies,
CT
