2001 A4 B5 Hard Downshift
Ok so i've had this car for less than 2 months. Car had the tranny replaced in January of this year with a used 60-70k transmission. Took it to the shop that replaced it and he said that it is the "Valve Body" and the only way to fix it is replace it which costs about 1200 bones. Now it doesn't slip gears or anything, just when you stop suddenly after getting in 5th gear, and it goes to shift down it feels like it shifts hard down. If you slowly slow down it shifts normal. If you use Tip, it shifts normal.
He said to not worry about it unless it starts to get really bad as he said it isnt bad yet. I was looking to do a stage 1 ECU upgrade through APR or GIAC but he also said that I should stay away from the flash as I live in CO and i should find one that actually still has altitude compensation as the other flash programs do not so was looking at Unitronics Stage 1 since it keeps all of the ECU hardcode.
Anyways, i was wondering if this Valve Body will be even more of a problem if i add more tq to the car.
