yea just like everyone else said, you dont need a chip for an exhaust, if u do get a chip it would be a lot better, and you better hope your not emissions checked on your inspection, you wont pass at all if you straight pipe it with no cat

 

The car at the shop now getting the down pipe made,will the o2's throw a code now that the cat is gone.

 

yes. search defouler mod. or there is this square blocker that I think chaos used but i haven't been able to find it online...

 

2 bungs need welded to the pipe that repaces the cat. A spark plug non fouler (or2)is used in the rear bung hole ([8D]) to bring the rear 02 sensor out of the heavy flow of exhaust. Search on test pipes and youll get a better idea of what we mean.

 

cool thanks guy's you have been a lot of help.the down pipe is turning out real nice,will try to get some pic's up when done.did the Search on the non fouler,think iam just going to do a chip need one any way.onepoint8teewho does good tuner work on chip's.

 

By the way did some more reSearch on the motor,and it is low 40,000 mile motor,but he said it came out of a 2000.I must of heard him wrong.

 

A chip isnt an alternative to a non fouler, and achip isnt a necessity. However, APR offers a "test pipe" program that keeps your CEL from comoing on due to the test pipe. I think it only works in conjunction with their performance chip though. As to "what chip?"....... Please search and read the stickies. It really comes down to which chip manufacturer is closest to you.
